Why we exist

Nobody dreads the cooking.
It’s everything before it.

There is a whole job that happens before a pan ever gets hot. It has no name, it eats an evening a week, and nobody gets credit for doing it. So we made it ours.

  • Decide what seven dinners look like
  • Check the fridge and the pantry
  • Write the grocery list
  • Compare prices across stores
  • Wander the aisles finding it all
  • Cook something goodStill yours

Checked off by software, every week, before you even look up.

~200
Dinner decisions a week

That’s roughly how many small calls a household makes just to get dinner on the table. What to cook, what it costs, what’s already home, what to buy where. Meal-kit boxes charge $12 and up a plate to make those decisions disappear. We think the deciding should cost almost nothing, and the food should still come from your own grocery store.

Our starting point

Your grocery store already has everything a meal kit ships you

Fresher, cheaper, and five minutes away. The only things missing are the decided menu, the honest prices, and a list that loads itself. Those are software problems. So we built the software.

What that took

Meals priced against real shelves

Every dinner is priced with the actual shelf and sale prices at your own stores, tracked fresh every night. Not a national average, not an estimate, the number you'll see at the till this week.

Any ingredient, compared across stores

Butter is a different bet at Save-On than at Superstore this week. Look up any ingredient and see exactly where it's cheapest before you commit to a trip.

A list that splits only when it pays

One store is the default. Your list splits across a second store only when the savings genuinely beat the extra stop.

A cart that loads itself

One click puts the whole list into your grocery store's own online cart, in your own account, at shelf price. No Instacart markup, no meal-kit premium, and your store's own pickup or delivery included.

Whose side we’re on

We optimize for your wallet, not a retailer’s margins

Plenty of recipe apps plug into a grocery chain and get paid by it, so the suggestions drift toward whatever carries the best margin. Nobody pays us to place products. We charge a flat subscription, we never touch the price of food, and the menu is steered by one thing, what costs you least this week.

The only way we grow is by being worth more than we cost.

Where we are

Starting in Greater Vancouver. Built for Canada.

We launched where we live. Today we price dinners at nine chains across Greater Vancouver, and we add stores and cities as fast as we can price them honestly. Canadian stores, Canadian prices, Canadian dollars.

Save-On-Foods, No Frills, Real Canadian Superstore, Loblaws, Your Independent Grocer, Fresh St. Market, PriceSmart Foods, Urban Fare, and Marketplace IGA, with more on the way.

The promises

Four things that stay true

Your store delivers

One click fills their cart; use their pickup or delivery. No middleman.

No markup

Shelf price is the price. We never add a cent to food.

Real per-store prices

Tracked daily at your stores. Not averages, not estimates.

One-click cart

The list loads itself. You just review and check out.

The menu, set. The list, written. The cart, filled.

All that’s left is the cooking. Your first month of Plus is free, the free tools stay free, and most weeks the plan saves more than the $8.99 it costs.
