Privacy Policy

Effective July 14, 2026

Satiafy (“we”, “us”) is a meal-planning service operated by [Legal entity - set at incorporation]. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices. We keep the data we collect to the minimum needed to run the service, and we do not sell your personal information.

The short version

  • We store your account email, your meal-planning preferences, and the menus you save.
  • Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.
  • Our browser extension reads your own grocery-store login only inside your browser to add items to your cart. That login token never leaves your device and is never sent to our servers.
  • We don’t sell your data or run third-party ad trackers.

Information we collect

Account information. When you create an account we store your email address, your display name (if provided), and - for password accounts - a securely hashed password (never the password itself). If you sign in with Google, we receive your email and name from Google.

Preferences and content. Your dietary preferences, default servings, chosen stores, and the weekly menus and grocery lists you create or save.

Billing. If you subscribe, Stripe processes your payment and stores your payment details. We retain only a Stripe customer/subscription reference and your plan status - not your card details.

Cart-fill activity (browser extension). When you use the extension to add a list to a store cart, it sends us a per-item outcome record so we can measure and improve matching quality: the store, the product code (SKU) and name, whether the item was added, substituted, unavailable, or failed, and the HTTP status. This does not include your store login, your payment details, or your full cart.

Feedback. If you send feedback, we store your message, the page you sent it from, and - if you provide it - your email so we can reply.

Basic technical logs. Like most websites, our servers record standard request information (such as IP address and timestamps) for security and reliability. We do not use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

What the browser extension accesses - and what it never does

The extension only acts when you tell it to. To add your planned groceries to a store’s cart, it reads the login session that you already established with that store, in your own browser, and uses it to add items to your own cart on the store’s site. Key guarantees:

  • Your store login token is used only within your browser and is never transmitted to, or stored on, our servers.
  • We do not read, collect, or store your store password.
  • We only send back the per-item outcome telemetry described above, so we can fix products that fail to match.
  • You review and complete checkout yourself, on the store’s own website.

How we use your information

  • To create your account and provide the meal-planning service.
  • To build menus and grocery lists tailored to your preferences.
  • To process your subscription (via Stripe).
  • To improve product matching and cart-fill accuracy.
  • To send service and marketing emails you have opted into (see below).
  • To keep the service secure and operational.

Email

If you opt in, we send weekly menu reminders and cheap-meals-this-week alerts. Every marketing email identifies us and includes an unsubscribe link, and you can change your email preferences anytime in Settings. We may still send you essential account emails (for example, email verification or password resets).

Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run the service under confidentiality obligations - currently our payment processor (Stripe), our email delivery provider, and our hosting/database provider - and where required by law. When you use the extension, you interact directly with the grocery retailer’s own website under that retailer’s privacy policy; we are not affiliated with any retailer.

Retention

We keep your account data while your account is active. You can delete your account at any time, which removes your account and associated personal data from our active systems; residual copies may persist in backups for a limited period and in records we must keep by law.

Your choices and rights

You can view and update your preferences, change email settings, and delete your account from Settings. Subject to applicable Canadian privacy law, you may request access to or correction of your personal information by contacting us. To uninstall the extension, remove it from your browser’s extensions page; uninstalling stops all extension access immediately.

Children

The service is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13.

Changes

We may update this policy; we will revise the effective date above and, for material changes, provide notice through the service.
